Home Safety Review
A room-by-room review of the home itself, covering grab bars, lighting, thresholds and alarms, so that the place someone lives in stops working against them.
Most falls happen at home, in rooms people have crossed safely for decades. What changes is not the house but the body moving through it, and the house is usually the easier of the two to fix. A home safety review walks the whole place with a physical therapist's eye: where a grab bar would actually help and at what height, which rug or threshold is a trip waiting to happen, whether the light between the bed and the bathroom is enough at three in the morning, and whether a call alarm is in place and within reach of the floor rather than the wall.
What it looks like
Walked, not surveyed from a list
The review follows the routes a person actually takes: bed to bathroom, chair to kitchen, front door to street. A checklist filled in from the doorway misses the things that only show up when you watch someone move.
For families who cannot be there
If your parents live in another state, this is a way to know what their home is really like, not what they tell you over the phone. You get an honest written account of what is safe, what is not, and what is worth changing first, from someone who was actually in the room.
Ranked, and realistic
Findings come back in order of what matters most, separating the changes that genuinely reduce risk from the ones that only look reassuring. Nothing is sold or installed here. The recommendations are yours to act on however you choose.
